If you are ready to tackle this certification, here are some resources and tips that helped me pass mine:

Salesforce Exam Guide

If you’ve already taken a Salesforce exam, then you’re familiar with its exam guides, and you know it’s always a good idea to start by reviewing them, here you can find the most relevant information regarding your upcoming certification.

My previous certification was the Admin exam and I immediately noticed that one big difference between these two exams was the passing score. For the admin exam, the passing score was 65%, while for the Pardot Specialist exam, it’s 72%, so keep that in mind.

Exam Outline

Visitors and Prospects: 8%

This section holds the lowest weight in the exam but in my point of view, it’s the easiest one, so you can use that in your advantage. For this one, you need to study the relationship between visitors and prospects and learn about prospect audits.

Here are some resources you can use: Converting Visitors to Prospects, Managing Pardot Visitors and Prospects, Pardot Lead Generation for Pardot Lightning App, Prospect Audits

Administration: 11%

Admin section deals with field mapping, relationship between Pardot and Salesforce and the Recycle Bin.

You can use some of these links to study: Pardot Salesforce Integration for Lightning App, Pardot Recycle Bin, Prospect Fields, Syncing Prospects Between Pardot and Salesforce, Map Salesforce and Account Engagement Custom Fields, Connecting Pardot and Salesforce

Pardot Forms, Form Handlers and Landing Pages: 20%

This section handles some of the most important parts of content management in Pardot and you will get around 12 questions for this one. You will need to understand how pardot forms, form handlers and landing pages work as well as how reporting works.

Some resources are: Capture Leads with Forms and Form Handlers, Engaging Visitors with Landing Pages, Form and Form Handler Reporting, Show Engagement History on Records, What’s the Difference Between a Submission and a Conversion in Pardot?

Lead Management: 24%

Lead management holds the most amount of questions, around 14, and here you need to understand how automation in Pardot work as well as list management. Another important thing to understand is grading and scoring and how they are used.

Some resources are: Pardot Process Automation, Pardot Scoring and Grading, Einstein Lead Scoring, Segmentation, Automation Rules, Static and Dynamic Prospect Lists
